The Perfect Diet

Everyone wants the perfect diet that will keep them healthy and fit and assist with their health and fitness goals. I have decided to give everyone the perfect diet, the fitness secret that people pay money for to get from me.
Follow this diet and you will be successful with your fitness goals.


Eat at least 1600 calories a day (more if you are male) of foods on this list (some overlap):

-Vegetables – any – the more variety the better – stuff your face with them, eat as much as you want.
-Meat – any – dark, light, high fat, low fat. Variety here is key as well. Beef, chicken, pork, game meat, seafood (!!!!!!!!! Lots of seafood!!!!!!!!!), and any other animal you can get your hands on.
-Dairy – yogurt, milk, butter, cheese. And no light stuff or reduced fat.
-Grains – couscous, quinoa, brown rice, and oatmeal are all fair game
-Fats – olives, olive oils, butter, nuts, avocado, fish.
-Fruit – berries, berries, berries.

Done. There you have it – the secret to all of my clients success. Eat only things on that list and fitness success is yours.

Avoid the following:
-Anything in a package
-Most foods that would be fine sitting out on the counter for three or four days without going bad
-Anything deep fried
-Baking (pies, pastries, muffins, danishes, donuts, cakes, cookies etc)
-Cereals and breads
-Anything with sugar added to it (including beverages)
-Anything with high fructose corn syrup or other such sweetening agent
-Candy, chips, chocolate
-Eating at restaurants more than once per week

I know eh? No fun you say. Okay, don’t follow the list. Go eat what you want, I really don’t care. Your fitness results will be dictated by how well you follow that list.

    Taylor, do you have any recommendations for websites or books with meal plans? I’m really good at buying vegetables and other healthy foods at the grocery store, but really bad at figuring out more than one or two meals.

    I love nuts but are certain kinds better than others? I love everything about this diets but the butter confused me. I use olive oil in it’s place. Also, what do you think about grape seed oil vs olive? I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about coconut oil as well.

      All nuts are good! If people start getting particular about varieties and minuscule differences they have too much time on their hands.
      Butter is not the horrible thing we have been led to believe – saturated animal fats in moderation (including dairy) hasn’t shown any negative impacts in the long term research. SO adding some butter is A ok.
      I don’t know enough about the difference with grape seed vs. olive oil – so can’t answer that part for you! I use a lot of coconut oil – which has a high smoke point so is great for cooking!!

    Love your podcasts! Glad to hear your father is doing well. My dad, all his siblings and both parents had bypass surgery. So, as you can guess I’m a little concerned about my genetics. As you said with your dad, mine has always maintained a healthy weight and has been active. I can’t say the same about the rest of the family. I went back to see what type of diet you recommend. I’m curious, after talking to cardiologists and heart surgeons has your opinion changed. My dad’s doctor recommended a vegan diet and I know others do as well. I’m from WI so we love our dairy and meat. Thanks for all you do!

      Thank you for the kind words! I am still investigating the nutrition thing. I still see no evidence that meat and dairy are a negative issue in healthy amounts. The issues are definitely processed shit and high heat foods (baking, cookies, donuts, packages stuff, deep fried anything etc).
      I will keep researching though!!!! And most likely will put into a future podcast!
